Sure you can get a vegan pizza in Pizza Express, but there is no cheese and no choice. Fed by Water provided a contemporary setting in which to sit and ponder over the extensive veggie/vegan menu. In fact the the vegan choice is as large as the rest of the menu.

Fed by Water offers authentic Italian cuisine whilst keeping aware of their carbon footprint by sourcing food as locally as possible. The restaurant uses purified water in it’s food preparation with the idea that the the food will taste better with all the impurities removed! I had some purified water with lime. Sharp but refreshing!

We couldn’t resist ordering pizzas, although pasta and other options are available. I went for the spicy sausage and broccoli with vegan mozzarella and fennel seeds. It was rich but fragrant, a real unique taste. My better half had a sweet tasting yellow pepper, caper, olive and courgette pizza, also with mozzarella. The cheese was deliciously melty; a very satisfying touch.

Naturally we swapped some slices giving us the best of both worlds.A mouth burn was inevitable due to the uncontrollable greed and excitement which over come me upon be presented with this beauty. So was the inability to stop eating the entire pizza when my tummy was completely full! The before and after faces say it all.

I was lucky enough to get to have a chat with the owner Fabio (on the left) who is passionate about letting people know how good vegan food can be. He is planning to expand the vegan pizza choices even further soon and is always looking for customer feedback. By reaching out to the Vegan community, Fed by Water hopes to continue to expand their plant based choices show people how amazing and authentic vegan food can be. So what are you waiting for? Get to Dalston stuff your face with amazing Italian food and support this vegan friendly, cool and inspiring restaurant!
