Get FED this New Year!

If you are looking for somewhere to eat and party over the holidays, check out the New Year plans at FED by water in Dalston, East London. Since my first, very satisfying, visit early in the year, great use has been made of the space with a platform set high above the diners housing decks for guest DJs. It’s easy to imagine an awesome party at this place. During the day there’s such a nice chilled ambiance providing a sanctuary from the craziness of the station and market just outside the door.

FED now have a separate, bright green vegan menu, allowing you to peruse the cruelty free food without having to skip over dishes. This makes my heart skip a beat! A subltle prompt high up on the wall tells customers to “go vegan”. These changes signal the shifts towards establishing an authentic vegan Italian restaurant! The hospitality of  owner Fabio makes you feel genuinely looked after and all is set for a fantastic dining experience.

And so the food! The rich sun dried tomato, mushroom and walnut pasta was lovely with a green salad and delicious freshly squeezed orange with their purified water. The other half enjoyed an almost torso sized calzone, from which the lashings of vegan cheese (which apparently has the same molten lava qualities of dairy cheese!) come pouring out when he chomped into it. Obviously I nabbed a small taster – amazing stuff!

Then came the cashew cheese! Four flavours of creaminess; herbs, chive, paprika and basil. All served with lovely fingers of focaccia bread to scoop it up.

All in all, eating at this beautiful restaurant just gets better in every visit. And now they have added parties to the menu, it will be a guaranteed good time this New Year. So if you are at a loose end and able to get to East London, I highly recommend checking out the FED by water plans and joining their party to see in 2016 in style, and with a packed tummy!
